Baboro, the two-week festival for young people, starts in Galway on October 14th and runs until October 18th. Sponsored by Digital, The Irish Times and the Arts Council, the festival provides a range of shows - from dance and music to design, comedy and puppetry - and exhibitions, workshops and talks for young people aged three to 16 years. Most events take place in the Town Hall Theatre in Galway city.
The organisers are especially interested in school and group bookings. Schools have already received information about the events by post.
In association with the organisers, E&L is offering a total of 100 tickets to its readers for three of the festival performances. Tickets are offered in pairs or fours only. The performances are: (A) New Kid by the Green Thumb Theatre from Canada, Town Hall Theatre, Saturday, October 18th, 12 noon. (ages eight to 13); (B) The Happy Gang in Cyberspace, Town Hall Theatre, Thursday, October 16th, 10 a.m. (ages three and over); (C) Scraping the Surface by Theatre Terrific, also from Canada, Town Hall Theatre, Wed October 15th, 12 noon. (ages 12 and over).
To apply for tickets, send the completed coupon (right), together with a stamped, self- addressed envelope to: Baboro offer, Education and Living, The Irish Times, D'Olier Street, Dublin 2, clearly marking the outside of the envelope A, B or C, depending on which tickets you require. The first envelopes drawn from the postbag will receive tickets.
