THE FIRST EU Commission sponsored conference on the teaching of constructive thinking skills will be held in Dublin tomorrow and Thursday. The conference, which is aimed at teachers, education administrators and other professionals from Ireland and the EU, will be based on CoRT, a curriculum established by Dr Edward, de Bono, the lateral thinking guru.
CoRT is designed to teach students of all ages and abilities how to apply their intelligence to academic, business, social or personal situations. "Constructive thinking has a vitally important role to play ink our world of developing technologies where infinite information and knowledge is immediately at hand," according to the organisers.
Co-chaired by de Bono and Dr Victor Quinn, the conference has been organised as part of the European Year of Lifelong Learning and is supported by the European Commission for Education, Training and Youth and the Stancroft Trust, UK. Organised by the Edward de Bono Non-profit Foundation, the fee for the conference is £115.
