EXPLAINING the earlier than expected adjournment of the hearing yesterday, Mr Michael Collins SC, for the tribunal, said several witnesses scheduled to appear were unavailable for reasons outside the tribunal's control.
Although the adjournment was unintended, Mr Collins also indicated it would facilitate the tribunal team, which he said had reached an important phase of its investigations. The tribunal will resume at 10.30 a.m. today.
He said one reason the tribunal had proceeded with speed was the extent of investigative work done. But substantial work remained and could not be done while the team was dealing with witnesses giving evidence.
