"We've got to go on and on and on, no matter what it costs, searching for a permanent peace," the Church of Ireland Primate, Dr Robin Eames, told the BBC last night.
"If you'd lived here over the last year and a bit and had seen the way the ordinary decent people, both Protestants and Roman Catholics, had welcomed and appreciated the peace and come to understand what it could be, I don't think anyone would have doubted the fact that people want that to be permanent.
"And what I think is needed now is a total and community wide revulsion and condemnation at those who have carried this out."
