Householders in Ballina sloe, Co Galway, were given the all-clear to drink their domestic water yesterday, more than a week after they were issued with a warning following the discovery of E.coli bacteria in the town's main water supply.
The Western Health Board gave the all-clear after three consecutive water samples were found to be free of contamination and fit for drinking and food preparation.
The authorities have yet to give the all-clear for the group schemes supplied from the town's water supply.
