A road accident in Dundalk last week claimed its third victim yesterday when Ms Carol Bennett (19), from Laurel Grove, Dundalk, died. She was a passenger in a car driven by her boyfriend, Mr John Byrne (20), who was also a neighbour.
Gardai said he died instantly after their vehicle was involved in a collision with another car driven by Mr Barry O'Hagan (33) of Patrician Park in Newry. He died on the way to hospital.
Ms Bennett received serious head injuries and died in the early hours of yesterday morning.
