A Dublin woman has appeared before Tullamore District Court, charged with robbing two elderly brothers last year, one of whom died.

Ms Jennifer Dunne (27), Ballyfermot, Dublin, was charged with trespassing at the home of Mr Peter Logan at Castlejordan, Co Meath, on June 5th last year and stealing £45.

Judge Neilan commented that this was a serious charge, the place and date of which brought to mind more serious charges which had already been preferred against another person and which would ultimately be addressed in a higher court.

Insp John Moloney, prosecuting, said there were no Garda objections to bail, conditional on her signing on at her local Garda station. Defending solicitor Mr Donal Farrelly urged the court not to make the bail excessive as his client, who has seven children from nine months upwards, had only £60 in court.

Judge Neilan remanded the woman on her bail of £180, one-third of which had to be put forward to appear at Tullamore court on September 5th and made it a condition that she sign on at Ballyfermot Garda station three times weekly.
