New Dublin manager Tommy Lyons saw his side comfortably overcome the Blue Stars in this afternoon’s annual challenge match at Kiltipper Road.
Lyon’s charges built up a comfortable 1-12 to 0-6 lead at half-time and, despite easing up a little in the second period, were never going to be caught.
In the absence of Dessie Farrell and Jason Sherlock up front, UCD’s Eoin Bennett will have caught the eye of his new manager. Bennett chipped in with both Dublin goals - one at the start of each half - and added a point to cap a fine individual display.
