David Curran (19) of Lissadel Green, Drimnagh and Seán Keogh (21) of Vincent Street West, Inchicore are charged with the murders of Pawel Kalite (29) and Marius Szwajkos (27) on Benbulben Road in Drimnagh on February 23, 2008.

The prosecution had just finished making its opening statement when the judge made the decision after consulting both sides in the absence of the jury.

Mr Justice Liam McKechnie told the five women and seven men that certain information had come to light, which could have an impact on the running of the case from a legal point of view.

A new jury will be empanelled tomorrow morning.

The trial is expected to last up to three weeks.
