GARDAÍ HAVE arrested 25 people and seized heroin, cocaine, ammunition and large amounts of cash during raids in Dublin.
The arrests, which took place during a 48-hour raid of addresses in the Coolock area, have resulted in 80 charges being brought against those arrested, all of whom have been released on bail to appear in court at a future date.
The arrests bring to 40 the number of people arrested in connection with Operation Boa, a six-month covert operation which has targeted drug trafficking in the area, resulting in almost 120 charges among those arrested.
Gardaí had “dismantled a number of significant drug distribution networks operating in the Belcamp and Darndale areas”, a spokesman said yesterday. He said gardaí had evidence against “significant targets”.
The Garda press office said: “The focus of this operation has been to gather evidence against significant drug dealers in local communities and ensure these persons are brought before the courts.”
