The Department of Justice has said the new drug court is to open tomorrow despite threats from doctors not to co-operate with the system.

The court will offer rehabilitation instead of prison to drug addicts who are convicted of non-violent offences. It is to operate in Dublin's north inner city on a pilot basis for the next 18 months.
