Kinshasa - The war in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has left hundreds of thousands of civilians facing starvation, while medical stocks are very low, a senior United Nations official warned here yesterday.
"Hundreds of thousands of Congolese are currently caught up in a scourging daily struggle to remain alive along a vast ceasefire line" after more than a year of fighting between rebels and troops from several nations, the UN humanitarian co-ordinator, Mr Darioush Bayandor, said.
