Ulster will be without Tyrone Howe and Jonathan Bell for Friday's Celtic League clash with Llanelli at Ravenhill.
Howe will be out for three months after tearing a hamstring against Cardiff, while Bell injured his knee in the same game.
It's a must win game for the former champions if they wish to progress to the quarter-finals.
Connacht coach Steph Nel has made five changes to the side that won 47-29 against Mont de Marsan at the weekend.
Australian Warwick Waugh returns to the pack after getting injured against Pontypridd, while Dan McFarland and Jerry Flannery are drafted in a loose head prop and hooker respectively.
In the backs Mark McHugh returns to centre, with Chris Keane resuming his role at scrum-half.
