Raiders stole cash from a fast-food outlet last night in a so-called tiger kidnapping on the border between Donegal and Derry.

At about 7.30pm two men went into a house in Grove Cottages, Muff, Co Donegal, and tied up a man. When his female companion returned to the house she was taken to the fast-food outlet in Waterside, Derry.

She was ordered by the raiders to collect the takings and bring them to a location in Bridgend, Co Donegal.

While this was taking place the man was driven around the area for about an hour and a half until the money was handed over. At this stage the two were released and gardaí were called.
