A FORMER consultant with Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda is expected to face child sex abuse charges.
The DPP is believed to have decided that prosecutions should go ahead in relation to 14 files from Drogheda gardai, who have received 41 separate complaints.
The consultant has retired from the hospital. The Irish Medical Council has postponed its inquiry, awaiting the DPP's decision. All complaints are from men who allege that in their early teens they were sexually abused by the man, from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s.
