A security review is under way after an intruder was discovered inside the London home of Diana, Princess of Wales, Scotland Yard said early today. A man in a "distressed and emotional state" was arrested near Kensington Palace minutes after the intruder was confronted by a maid as he wandered the palace corridors in the early hours of Tuesday morning, a spokesman confirmed.
It was reported that the man, who had earlier attended the palace to sign a book of condolence, was found clutching a single rose as he searched for Diana's apartment to pay a final tribute by her bedside.
