Paddo's Gallarus is a clifftop stone cell, and Jock McPeak is hiding in it, waiting for a boat to take him home to Glasgow. The place is Kerry, the year 1923 at the end of the civil war. So, what is a Scot doing there, and why is he visited by Noreen, a local teacher, leading to a masque of deceit, seduction and betrayal? All will be revealed when Donal O'Kelly's Judas of the Gallarus has its premiere at the Peacock Theatre next Wednesday. The author has a deserved reputation for creative versatility as both writer and actor, underpinned by the recent success of his one-man play, Catalpa. He has an exciting young director and an excellent cast to accompany him on his latest exploration.
