Five people froze to death as temperatures in Moscow plunged this weekend, raising the death toll to 141 since the beginning of winter.
A total of 93 people were hospitalized with hypothermia andfrostbite as temperatures in the Russian capital dropped to minus 20° Celsius (- 4° Fahrenheit) over the weekend, Interfax news agency reported.
Last winter, almost 400 people died of cold in Moscow where the homeless and heavy drinkers are the most frequent victims.
