One of the most striking figures of the 1970s, Mr Gerry Jones, died last week. The funeral was held in Dublin at the weekend. His dark eye-patch made him among the most noticeable of those who stood by Mr Charles Haughey during the Arms Trial. He was also an associate of Mr Neil Blaney.
Mr Jones was a successful businessman with the shipping and engineering Jones Group. He was from Bandon, Co Cork, and lived in Dublin.
