It's a wonder there's any of the beau monde left in town with two oh-so-happening events across the sea this week. Yesterday, the friends of Lainey Keogh were flocking across to London to her spring/summer collection in the Imperial College. Last year's show was the talk of London fashion week and this year's extravaganza looks set to be the same.
Two of her pals, singer Marianne Faithful and gonna-be supermodel Jasmine Guinness, joined such catwalk veterans as Kate Moss, Helena Christensen, Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista strutting their stuff. Editors of the fashion press, from Vogue through to Hello! were squabbling over seats but several were reserved for the designer's mates, including Harry and Rita Crosbie, Caroline Downey, Catriona Ward, Joanne Byrne, John and Isabella Boorman and her sister, Irene Keogh.
On Thursday, Paris was the place to be - artist Patrick O'Reilly was opening his show in the exclusive Galerie Pilzer, alongside a centennial retrospective of Francis Picabia's work. Patrick was joined by his wife Gerardine Connolly who is being made a senior counsel this week, and her brother, solicitor Seamus Connolly. Film producer Billy Gaff was staying with Patrick and Geraradine for a few days and is planning to move back to Ireland from Britain soon.
