The Irish Auctioneers and Valuers Institute welcomed the changes in Corporation Tax and PRSI, and the increased relief to 75 per cent on the transfer of family businesses and agricultural, but has criticised the continuation of various property-related taxation.

In particular, the IAVI has objected to the failure to abolish Residential Property Tax and the failure to adjust stamp duty thresholds, the failure to address problems created by VAT on property for non-VAT registered parties, and the inadequacy of tax relief on long-term agricultural leases.

The Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers also criticised the retention of Residential Property Tax and stamp duty, especially the Minister's failure to introduce exemption on stamp duty for first time buyers of secondhand houses.
