A 44-year-old woman who was stopped at Dublin airport on Tuesday was found to have ingested 100 pellets of cocaine worth €120,000.

Gardaí and Revenue officers stopped the woman, who was from Guyana, at the airport on Tuesday and seized 1.7kg of the drug.

The woman was arrested by gardaí and detained at Ballymun Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

Investigations are continuing.
