Gardaí in Tipperary are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a house in Nenagh on Thursday.

It is understood the body of the 36-year-old was discovered in a pool of blood in the bathroom of a house on McDonagh Street at approximately 6pm by a caller to the house.

Gardaí were alerted and attended the scene. A local doctor pronounced the man dead.

The man’s body remained at the scene last night which was preserved for a technical examination.

A Garda spokesman said the death was being treated as suspicious. The Office of the State Pathologist has been notified and a post mortem is expected to be carried out on the deceased at Limerick Regional hospital on Friday.
