A woman has claimed in the High Court that she suffered head and arm injuries after a drunk man allegedly lifted her and dropped her on her head in a Dublin nightclub.

Tasha Fitzsimons (27) says the incident happened at the Barcode Nightclub, Clontarf, in 2008 after the man was “pestering” her.

Ms Fitzsimons, Glentworth Park, Ard na Gréine, Malahide Road, Dublin, has sued Templeville Developments, trading as Barcode.

It denies her claims that it was negligent on grounds including allowing an already drunk man into the club and continuing to serve him alcohol. It also denies claims of failure to properly supervise, or that it had insufficient security staff.

The company contends that there was “horseplay” between the man and Ms Fitzsimons. She denies that claim. The hearing continues before Mr Justice Michael White.
