Man accused of murdering parents to appear in court

A man charged with the murder of his parents will appear in court next month.

Julian Cuddihy, of Churchtown, Carndonagh, Donegal, was remanded in custody when his case came before Harristown District Court in Roscommon.

The 42-year old did not appear before the court, which is adjacent to Castlerea Prison.

A previous court sitting was told that Mr Cuddihy was receiving treatment.

He is charged with the murder of his parents Jimmy (77) and Kathleen (73) at the family home in Carndonagh on or around October 22nd, last year.

Mr Cuddihy has been in custody at Castlrea since he was remanded at a sitting of Ballyshannon District Court on October 24th.

An application by Inspector Ollie Baker than Mr Cuddihy be remanded in custody until March 13 was granted by Judge Geoffrey Browne.
