Claims petrol bomb thrown into Co Louth house

Fire broke out at 2am in Drogheda on Saturday but no one was injured

Gardaí are investigating claims that an object, possibly a petrol bomb, was thrown through the window of a house in Co Louth on Saturday morning.

A fire broke out in the house at about 2am in Old Monasterboice, Drogheda.

There were four people in the house at the time, all of whom were evacuated. Gardaí say none one was injured.

Fire services attended the scene and Gardaí are currently investigating claims that a petrol bomb was launched at the front room of the house.
