London - Legal moves are under way to strip the disgraced former British cabinet minister, Mr Jonathan Aitken (57), of his House of Commons pension to fund repayment of his £2.2 million debts, it was confirmed yesterday.
Bankruptcy administrators Baker Tilly have demanded that Mr Aitken be denied around £24,000 a year due to him from the age of 60 for serving 23 years as an MP. The request to the Parliamentary Pension Fund is understood to be the first in the history of the House of Commons.
