A woman who allegedly threatened another with a blood filled syringe in an attempt to steal her handbag was remanded in custody by the Dublin District Court yesterday. Ms Gwen Griffin (26), of Blackditch Road, Ballyfermot, was charged with attempted theft of the woman's handbag at Crampton Court, Temple Bar, and theft of another woman's bag at Lord Edward Street on December 30th last.

Garda Joe Cauley of Pearse Street Garda station, told the court how it was alleged that Ms Griffin had threatened the woman at Crampton Court with a blood filled syringe in a failed attempt to get her bag. Judge Terence Finn remanded the accused in custody to January 16th next.
