A legal move to stop an Orange march along lower Ormeau Road in Belfast next Monday cleared the first hurdle in Belfast High Court yesterday. Mr Justice Campbell granted leave for an application for a judicial review of the decision by the Parades Commission to allow the march through the nationalist area.

The judge said he would hear the application today. It has been brought by Mrs Patricia Pelan, whose Rutland Street home is in the lower Ormeau area.

In an affidavit Mrs Pelan said she believed the commission's decision was wrong in law and unreasonable.
