A price freeze on drinks instigated by two bodies representing publicans throughout the State came to an end yesterday, following a High Court ruling.
In a statement, the Vintners’ Federation of Ireland and the Dublin-based Licensed Vintners Association said they had written to their respective members to advise them of the immediate cessation of the price freeze.
The High Court had found that the freeze was in breach of an undertaking given in respect of the settlement of previous proceedings taken by the Competition Authority over alleged price fixing.
