Los Angeles - A appeals court voted unanimously yesterday not to reverse the $33.5 million judgment against former football star O.J. Simpson concerning the wrongful death of his former wife and her friend.
"We conclude the trial court did not err, and the compensatory and punitive damages are not excessive," Justice Charles Vogel wrote.
Although he was found innocent of murder charges in 1995 by a criminal court jury, in 1997 a civil jury found Simpson liable for the deaths in 1994 of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Gold man.
