A man who was caught with £30,000 worth of cannabis resin before boarding a Dublin train bound for Sligo has been jailed for four years by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
Thomas Irwin (20), St Joseph's Terrace, Sligo, and Nicola Somers (24), Glendalon Park, Ballytivnan, pleaded guilty to the possession of cannabis resin for sale and supply on December 18th, 1998.
Judge Elizabeth Dunne ordered Somers to do 120 hours' community service in lieu of 18 months' imprisonment and suspended the last 12 months of Irwin's sentence.
