Evidence by a prosecution witness was heard in camera yesterday at Bow Street Magistrates' Court in the case of Mr Colm Murphy, the man charged in connection with the Omagh bombing, writes Rachel Donnelly in London.
The court accepted an application by the witness's counsel, Mr Mark Fenshalls, that the public should not be present during the hearing.
The magistrate, Mr Timothy Workman, said he was satisfied the witness was fearful and that publication of certain elements of the evidence was already prohibited in Ireland.
Mr Murphy's trial is due to resume at the Special Criminal Court in Dublin today.
