Lusaka - Zambia's former president, Mr Kenneth Kaunda, under arrest for his alleged involvement in a failed coup attempt in October, told a court yesterday the coup was a set-up.
At Lusaka High Court, Mr Kaunda (73) said: "I did not hesitate to condemn the coup. I said this coup is not genuine. I believe it's a Chiluba-organised coup against himself." The court is hearing his application to be charged or released from house arrest.
