The former Cork South Central Fine Gael TD and Lord Mayor of Cork, Mr Jim Corr, was yesterday selected at a convention in Cork along with outgoing MEP Mr John Cushnahan to contest the June Euro elections in Munster.
Mr Cushnahan topped the poll with 200 votes ahead of Mr Corr who polled 176 votes, with former EU civil servant, Mr Rickard Deasy, from North Tipperary, coming third with 93 votes, but later being successfully nominated for the party's B panel.
