It has been reported Benchmark Technologies, an electronic design company, is to shed 78 jobs at its Cork plant.
The figure represents about two-thirds of the workforce. 35 people will be retained to run the plant.
Benchmark’s outlet in Blanchardstown, Dublin, which employs 250 personnel, is not to be affected by the cuts.
The company is understood to have blamed a global downturn in demand for its product.
