TV free: We can all look forward to watching digital television from next year following a successful trial over the last two years in parts of Louth and Dublin.

The free service will reach 80 per cent of the country in the first phase, with blanket coverage expected within a few months of its launch. An expanded free-to-air service will provide up to eight channels including RTÉ1, RTÉ2, TV3 and TG4. There are also plans to introduce a new Oireachtas channel, which is sure to get massive ratings.
