Kigali - The main rebel group in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) yesterday denied reports that its forces had taken part in an alleged massacre of around 300 civilians earlier this month.
"There was no massacre," Mr Jean-Pierre Ondekane, military leader and first vice-president of the Congolese Rally for Democracy (RCD) said. He said Misna, the Rome-based Roman Catholic missionary news service that reported the massacre on Saturday, "has always falsely accused the RCD."
