A conference on ageing, which begins today in Galway, will hear how people by the year 2025 will still be working at the age of 80, as the average life expectancy for both sexes will have risen considerably.
The Transitions in Older Age Conference, co-ordinated by the Western Health Board in conjunction with Age & Opportunity, the National Council on Ageing and Older People, and the Office for Health Gain, will examine the response of the health services to individual ageing experiences.
