Labour's proposals for a commission on policing have the potential to radically improve relations between gardai and the community, the party's Dublin South West TD and candidate, Mr Eamonn Walsh, said.
"In my own constituency, relations between gardai and some local residents have not always been ideal. Rather than looking for somebody to blame, I believe the commission would be an ideal forum to examine our expectations of the guards and what we can do to assist them in their work."
