Bogota - Unidentified armed men kidnapped a Colombian congressman last night as he travelled from his coffee farm through rebel country.
Mr Orlando Beltran Cuellar, a member of the opposition Liberal Party, was forced out of his car on the road in Huila Province, 220km southwest of Bogota. His chauffeur was allowed to go free.
Huila is just across a mountain range form a demilitarised enclave as big as Switzerland controlled by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Columba - which relies on kidnapping ransoms as income.
