RescuesThe Malin Head Coast Guard co-ordinated the rescue of two women yesterday.

The first incident involved a woman who became trapped by dense fog on Croagh Patrick. A helicopter was dispatched from Sligo and Mayo Mountain Rescue assisted in the rescue.

Later yesterday a woman walker became trapped at sea by the tide as she was walking across rocks off the shore between Moneygold and Mullaghmore in Co Sligo.

Bundoran Lifeboat said the tide swept in between the rocks and a 10m cliff on land, preventing her from reaching shore. The woman, who is originally from Northern Ireland, but who lives in the Netherlands, raised the alarm on her mobile phone.
