A High Court action by a senior fitness coach with Munster Rugby FC over an alleged attempt to make him redundant and replace him with someone else has been adjourned.
Dr Tom Comyns obtained a temporary injunction last week preventing the Irish Rugby Football Union Munster branch advertising for, or filling, the position of fitness coach.
Ms Justice Mary Laffoy was told yesterday Munster Rugby required time to file replying affidavits to Dr Comyn’s claims and she adjourned the matter to next week. The club was prepared to undertake not to advertise or fill the position. Dr Comyns said in an affidavit he was told “out of the blue” on April 27th he was to be made redundant and the job was to be re-advertised.
