Ireland’s fifth Euromillions winner has until tomorrow to claim their €1 million prize or it will be returned to the National Lottery and used for special top up promotions across their games in the future.

The National Lottery is eagerly waiting to hear from the winner before the deadline of 5.30pm tomorrow.

The Euromillions Plus Extra draw, usually €500,000 was doubled to the €1m on Friday the 1st May as a special promotion from the National Lottery to celebrate the May Bank Holiday weekend.

The winning €3 ticket was bought in Supervalu, Graiguenamanagh, Co Kilkenny on the day of the draw, Thursday April 30th 2009.

The National Lottery is urging everyone in the Graiguenamanagh region who bought a ticket for the Bank Holiday draw to re-check their ticket.

‘There is no way of redeeming National Lottery winnings without a winning ticket signed on the back.’ said a spokeswoman for the National Lottery.

With on average 67 per cent of over Irelands over 18s playing the national lottery every week, there have been 12 unclaimed jackpots totalling over €11 million since Lotto began in April 1988.

Of the 700,000 people who play Euromillions in Ireland each week winnings have never gone uncollected as of yet.

Winners are allowed ninety days from the date of the draw, to collect their winnings.

Dolores McNamara remains the largest EuroMillions jackpot winner in Ireland collecting €115 million in July 2005 on the 90th day after the draw.
