Management and staff at one of the country’s top visitor attractions, the Cliffs of Moher have agreed to pay cuts of 18 per cent to address a projected €200,000 loss at the site this year.

The manager of Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre Ltd, Katherine Webster, confirmed yesterday that all staff are to take the cut as part of a three-day working week that will apply from next month to next February.

Visitor numbers are down by 5 per cent at the site this year.

Ms Wesbter said: “This agreement allows us to avoid layoffs or redundancies, to maintain the opening hours of the visitor centre and to continue to deliver the high standard of visitor experience that people have come to expect at the Cliffs of Moher.”
