Clare voters have underlined the importance they place on Shannon Airport and have signalled their unhappiness with the Government’s handling of the airport issue according to the latest TG4/MRBI poll.
The 400 Clare voters surveyed between January 14th and 19th gave a resounding 97 per cent endorsement to the importance of Shannon Airport within the economy of the Mid-West region.
More than two-thirds said they were not satisfied with the Governments handling of the issues concerning the airport.
The poll also showed that Fianna Fail will hold it three seats in the four-seat Clare constituency with the two Fine Gael candidates, Senator Madeline Taylor-Quinn and Mr Donal Carey are neck and neck for the fourth seat.
The poll suggests that the Minister for the Arts, Culture, Heritage, Gaeltacht and Islands, Ms Sile de Valera, and Mr Tony Killeen will exceed their quota’s on the first count in the general election.
Ms de Valera’s satisfaction rating is the highest among the respective candidates in Clare.
