Buenos Aires - A top official of Buenos Aires's city government has been arrested for allegedly seeking bribes from businessmen, the city's mayor and 1999 presidential hopeful, Mr Fernando De la Rua, said yesterday.
The city's Chief Public Notary, Mr Jorge Gomez, was arrested with his secretary on Tuesday on suspicion of demanding a $200,000 (£142,000) bribe from two men wanting permission to set up a business.
