Ankara - Military prosecutors yesterday launched an investigation into the former Turkish prime minister and foreign minister Ms Tansu Ciller, a national television channel reported.
The inquiry is related to allegations made by a left-wing politician that Ms Ciller had spied for the US Central Intelligence Agency, according to the report.
Meanwhile, a former police intelligence chief was arrested yesterday for bugging generals accused by the former Islamist-led government of plotting a coup, the Anatolia news agency said.
