ANKARA - The Turkish parliament yesterday launched a second inquiry into alleged corruption by the former prime minister, Ms Tansu Ciller. The motion accuses her of interfering in bidding for the sale of state shares in the Tofas carmaker, a subsidiary of Fiat. It was submitted by the pro Islamic Welfare Party and backed by her party's coalition government partners from the Motherland Party of Prime Minister Mr Mesut Yilmaz.
