Cigarettes and tobacco worth over €66,000 were seized by Customs officers in Dublin airport over the weekend.
No one claimed the luggage containing the cigarettes and tobacco, which were seized on Saturday, and the name tags on the bags did not match any of the passengers.
A number of passengers were spoken to, but there were no arrests, and it is not expected that a file will be sent to the DPP, a Customs spokesman said. A Northern-Irish based gang are understood to be behind the operation.
It is believed the cigarettes and tobacco were destined for sale at markets in Northern Ireland and the Republic.
